Before attending law school, Alvin received his bachelors and MBA from Florida A&M University. After graduation, Alvin began working as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer Inc. Between his time at Pfizer and starting at Emory University School of Law, Alvin was the co-owner of a franchise tax preparation business.
Currently, Alvin Johnson's litigation practice focuses on mass tort and insurance broker defense litigation. In addition to his litigation practice, Alvin has experience assisting clients in global corporate restructuring and integration projects.
Alvin's mass tort practice focuses on the defense of pharmaceutical companies in a variety of cases with an emphasis on complex, multi-jurisdictional product liability litigation.
Alvin's insurance practice focuses primarily on professional liability relating to brokerage and consulting services involving insurance-coverage litigation. He has experience with insurance cases dealing with major lines of insurance, including general liability, business interruption, and property.
Alvin's transactional practice focuses on cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings, across a wide variety of sectors with a particular emphasis on transactions in healthcare, energy, and retail and manufacturing. His experience has made him effective at coordinating teams of lawyers in various countries to assist clients in structuring, implementing and closing international transactions.
