Ranfi Rivera is a Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs serving the Kids & Family Group within Viacom Media Networks where he supports series development, production and live events including the Kids' Choice Awards franchises. He is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from New York University.
Prior to joining Viacom, Ranfi served as the Deputy General Counsel at WNET, one of PBS' flagship stations, where he was responsible for the management of the legal and business affairs department with oversight over all of the company’s production and distribution related activities and has worked on projects that have earned Emmys, a Grammy, Peabody Awards and countless other television and film honors. Always trying to extend the viewing experience beyond the screen, Ranfi has also helped WNET launch some of its boldest initiatives including The Celebration of Teaching & Learning, which was the country’s largest educational conference. He also spearheaded the effort to stage public television’s largest fundraising event with the final concert of The Police’s worldwide record breaking tour at Madison Square Garden and helped WNET navigate through the production and filming of Andrea Bocelli’s historic performance in Central Park.
Ranfi is a member of the New York State Bar Association: Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section, has spoken on a number of panels on a wide variety of issues in the entertainement industry and was once nominated for a New York emmy award. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and has a passion for creative writing.
