Firmwide Managing Partner, Arent Fox LLP


 

Cristina Carvalho became Arent Fox's first female Managing Partner in 2016. A native of Brazil, where she practiced for seven years before coming to the United States, Cristina began her career at Arent Fox in 1997 and has held a number of leadership positions at the firm, including serving on the firm’s Executive Committee, as head of the nationally recognized Trademark practice, and on the firm’s Compensation, Associate Evaluation, and Diversity & Inclusion committees. Cristina also serves on the Advisory Board of Transforming Women's Leadership in the Law, a Thomson Reuters board.  

Arent Fox is transparent about its diverse representation; in 2021, 34 percent of the firm's attorneys were women and 22 percent were minorities. The firm is Mansfield Certified, and diversity efforts include affinity groups and a diversity scholarship.
