Scott W. Linek is Associate Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Nationwide, a Fortune #69 insurance and financial services company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Scott leads the Marketing & Intellectual Property Legal Team and provides legal counsel related to all of Nationwide’s Advertising, Sponsorships, Social Media, and Intellectual Property matters.
Prior to joining Nationwide in 2005, Scott was in private practice for 7 years in Los Angeles and San Diego, California, where he focused on intellectual property, tax and corporate law. Scott graduated with honors from Marquette University Law School in 1997, and was a Founding Editor of the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University and was a member of Bowling Green’s Club Lacrosse team.
Scott is a Benjamin Aranda Lifetime member of the Hispanic National Bar Association where he is an active member of the Corporate Counsel Division and the Mentorship program. Scott is an Adjunct Professor at Capital University Law School teaching the Intellectual Property course in the post-bachelorette paralegal program. He is also actively involved with the International Trademark Association, serving as a committee member for the past 10 years.
Scott’s favorite thing is spending time with his wife and three daughters. He is also an avid triathlete and has competed in the Olympic-distance National Championships.
