Every LCLD Member organization is invited to select one or more 1L LCLD Scholars to participate in a summer internship at their organization and attend a summit designed exclusively for 1L LCLD Scholars.  Click here to find the agenda for the 2023 1L Scholars Virtual Summit.

Eligibility and Application Process

Step 1: Register with LCLD.

You can register your organization with LCLD hereThe deadline has been extended until April 28, 2023. LCLD will host a hyperlinked page of available opportunities and market the program to 1L law students beginning December 1, 2022. Postings will be accepted from LCLD Members through March 31, 2023. Please provide a PDF of your job posting along with the name/email address of the contact person to Nancy Richardson at nrichardson@lcldnet.com

Step 2: Hire your Scholar.

1L LCLD Scholar candidates must apply directly to summer internships at the LCLD Member organization(s) of their choice, beginning December 1, 2022. Each Member will independently identify, select, and hire its respective 1L Scholars. 1L Scholar candidates must be enrolled as first-year law students and in good standing at an ABA-approved law school.

 

Step 3: Enroll your Scholar.

The deadline to enroll your Scholar with LCLD has been extended until April 28, 2023. LCLD Member organizations will provide their Scholars’ information to LCLD and enroll their Scholars for the 2023 1L LCLD Scholars Virtual Summit. The summit will be held May 23–25, 2023, and will include sessions on project management, law firm mechanics, and advice from LCLD attorneys. More details and the full summit agenda will be posted in the coming months.
