I, Jim Lehman, personally commit to the following:

Personal Commitment

  • I will continue to lead the Claflin University Board of Trustees and our work to create new pathways to the legal profession.
  • I will advocate for DE&I in my firm and in the legal profession.
  • I will use my position to review the equity of processes such as hiring, work assignments, and compensation.
  • I will support participation of our firm attorneys in LCLD programs. 
  • I will meet with my firm’s LCLD Fellows, Pathfinders, and Alumni to discuss their experiences within the firm and their recommendations for how the firm could improve.

Organizational Commitment

  • We will pursue Mansfield Certification.
  • We will include DE&I action plans and DE&I performance metrics in our various firm and practice strategic plans.
  • We will promote our diverse attorneys through affinity groups, networking gatherings, social platforms and other firm forums. 
  • We will monitor the performance of our diverse attorneys and provide sponsors to support their career success and progression. 
  • We will continue to support and expand our High Potentials Programs to help our women and diverse partners matriculate to Equity Partners. 
  • We will engage our top originating partners to insert DE&I into their efforts regarding hiring, retention, allocation of work, and business development to support our diverse attorneys.
  • We will review our origination credit process to ensure that practices such as credit-sharing and developing business are equitable.
