I, Emily Schultz, personally commit to the following:

Personal Commitment 

  • I will mentor a diverse junior attorney on an ongoing basis. As a mentor, I will make a concerted. 
  • I will connect with 10 GC/LCLD members about ways to work together in supporting the advancement of diverse lawyers within the firm. 
  • As firm leadership, I will advocate for greater high-visibility and/or high-profile opportunities for diverse members in the legal community and with clients. 
  • I will advocate for DE&I in the community by participating in events and organizations that benefit diverse causes; this will include pushing for greater diversity in old guard establishments that lack a DE&I focus.

Organizational Commitment 

  • I will choose 5 clients each year to collaborate with about creating opportunities for diverse attorneys to work on their matters, with a goal of bringing substantial visibility to diverse lawyers on the team.
  • In a two-year period, I will increase lawyer diversity for the firm’s clients by 25%.
  • I will encourage our attorneys to participate in community events and marketing opportunities that benefit diverse organizations or causes; and recognize the efforts of those attorneys. 
  • I will develop a firm database/directory of diverse talent, attorneys and others in the legal industry and share their information with colleagues, clients and leaders to further encourage the success of diverse members of the legal community.
