Christiane (“Chrissy”) Roussell Willis is Counsel in the Employment Services Group at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in Los Angeles. She provides human resources and employment-related counseling and training to employers on a wide variety of issues, including recruiting, hiring, terminations, performance management, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, and workplace violence. She also conducts workplace investigations and audits of workplace policies and procedures. In her litigation practice, Chrissy represents employers in complex and single-plaintiff labor and employment matters, including wage and hour class and collective actions and litigation of claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, employee raiding, and trade secrets. Chrissy also serves on DWT’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee as an Ambassador for the Los Angeles office.
Chrissy previously served as Senior Counsel in the Employment Litigation Group at 21st Century Fox in Los Angeles where she counseled Fox businesses on various employment issues, conducted employee trainings, and managed outside counsel representing Fox on employment matters. Prior to Fox, Chrissy practiced at the law firms Morgan Lewis and Hunton & Williams, as well as served in a human resources role at Broadcom Corporation.
Outside of DWT, Chrissy serves on the board of California ChangeLawyers (formerly known as the California Bar Foundation). She was an inaugural member and the first Chair of the Ambassadors Council of the California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP). Chrissy is a Past President (2015) of the John M. Langston Bar Association of Los Angeles. She has also served on the board of the California Young Lawyers Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Barristers Executive Committee. In 2016, Chrissy was one of the inaugural recipients of CMCP’s Marci Rubin Emerging Diversity Leader Award. In 2011, Chrissy was honored as one of the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 by the National Bar Association and IMPACT. Chrissy is also an active member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Smart Set, an African-American women’s charitable and social organization.
Chrissy is a Los Angeles native. She received her B.A. in English from Georgetown University in 2003, her J.D. from USC Law in 2006, and her Human Resources Management Certificate from Loyola Marymount University in 2009. While at USC, Chrissy participated in Moot Court, BLSA, and the Post-Conviction Justice Project, and was the Co-Executive Director of Street Law.
