Ann Chen is Asia Regional Patent Counsel for Eli Lilly and Company, an American global pharmaceutical company with headquarters located in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States. Ann is based in Kobe, Japan and responsible for all intellectual property matters for Lilly in the Asia region. She received her B.S. in Biology from the California Institute of Technology (1997) and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University (2001). Ann is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to joining Lilly, Ann was a Senior Lawyer at Clifford Chance's Shanghai China office and was seconded to the Health Care Practice at the Dusseldorf Germany office. Prior to that, Ann was an Associate at Jones Day's Shanghai China office and New York office and was seconded to the Munich Germany office. Prior to that, Ann was a Summer Associate and later an Associate at Pennie & Edmond LLP's New York office.
Ann enjoys traveling and has worked and/or lived in various countries, including Taiwan, Canada, U.S.A., Germany, China and now Japan. She enjoys jigsaw puzzle, action and fantasy movies, and is a Disney fan at heart.
