Managing Partner, Bowles Rice LLP 

Thomas Heywood joined Bowles Rice in 1983, but left the firm to serve as Chief of Staff and Counsel to West Virginia Governor Gaston Caperton. He returned to the firm in 1993 and was elected Managing Partner in 2008. Thomas is President of the Discover the Real West Virginia Foundation and serves on the West Virginia University Board of Governors and the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, among other civic activities.

Diversity efforts at Bowles Rice include a Diversity Partner, formal and informal mentoring, and diverse recruiting. The firm is also proud that four of five administrative directors are women, including the Executive Director.
