Chairman, Vinson & Elkins LLP

 

Mark Kelly is Chairman of Vinson & Elkins and also leads the firm’s diversity efforts as Chair of the firm’s diversity committee. He is the Past Director of the State Bar of Texas and current Chair of the Executive Committee of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

On the firm’s diversity efforts, Mark says: “We examine and are working to improve things like our interview practices, feedback and evaluation systems, work allocation, and sponsorship programs, to name a few critical areas that often impact the success of our diverse lawyers.”

Other diversity initiatives at the firm include programming for women, diversity scholarships for high school and law school students, and first-year law student fellowships. V&E has been ranked a top firm by Yale Law Women, Working Mother magazine, and the Austin Bar Association. The firm was an LCLD Most Active Member Law Firm in 2014 and 2015.
