Managing Partner, Wiley

Peter Shields joined Wiley Rein in 1997 and became Managing Partner in 2012. He has been instrumental in the growth of the firm’s pro bono program. Peter serves on the Board of Trustees of the Legal Aid Society of D.C. and the National Advisory Board for the NALP Foundation for Law Career Research and Education.

“In order to achieve excellence in today’s legal market, we believe in creating a workplace of inclusiveness where all opinions are valued,” he said while discussing the firm’s commitment to diversity.

Wiley’s diversity initiatives include affinity groups and partnerships with Street Law and the Thurgood Marshall Academy. The firm received a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2016 Corporate Equality Index. Wiley was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2020.
