Chair, Miller & Chevalier Chartered
Kathryn Cameron Atkinson developed an interest in international studies early in life and lived in Germany during the 1980s, practicing at a German law firm the summer after the Berlin Wall fell. She joined Miller & Chevalier Chartered in 2002 and became Chair in 2019, where she helps guide the firm's diversity efforts.
“Diversity enriches the deliberative process and improves decision-making,” Kathryn said in an interview on the importance of D&I. “There’s no substitute for having that diversity at the table.”
Kathryn is also the Creator and Co-Chair of the Forum on International Corporate Compliance at the Center for American and International Law, and a Member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women.
As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Kathryn created a Leader's Pledge detailing her personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Kathryn's pledge here.
Miller & Chevalier's diversity initiatives include programs for high school and law students; a retreat to bridge understanding internally and between the firm and its clients; networking opportunities for minority lawyers; and a variety of affinity groups. Miller & Chevalier was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2018.
