Managing Partner, Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP

Julie Earp joined Smith Moore Leatherwood in 1986 and was elected as the firm’s first female Managing Partner in 2014. She was named one of the Most Admired CEOs by Triad Business Journal and one of the 100 Women to Watch by BizWomen

“I don’t want to be remembered as the first woman managing partner,” Julie said on her election to Chair of the Management Committee. “I want to be remembered for what I did. I think that will be the case. It is interesting to people to who don’t know us, but kind of boring for us. We have 13 committees and six of them are led by women.”

Smith Moore Leatherwood’s diversity efforts include mandatory diversity education, alternative scheduling, and various mentoring programs. The firm is also proud that 23 percent of its equity partners are women.
