Jay Rothman joined Foley & Lardner in 1986 and became Chairman in 2011. In 2017, he received a Top Workplace Leadership award for the firm’s work to engage employees, including an evaluation overhaul and new leadership training. Diversity initiatives at Foley include a working parent network, affinity groups, and diverse mentors for summer associates. These efforts are led by a Chief Diversity Partner, a Diversity Council, and a diversity department. Foley has consistently been recognized as a top firm for LGBTQ inclusion and working mothers.
