Vice President and General Counsel, Cummins Inc. 

Sharon Barner is Vice-President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Cummins Inc. She previously served as Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Deputy Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and served on the Executive Management Committee at Foley & Lardner. 

Upon joining Cummins, Sharon reshaped the legal department, increasing the number of women and minorities on her team, and then began working with outside counsel to increase the diversity of the teams working on Cummins' matters. She is an advocate diversity and inclusion, calling for systemic change in the legal profession. 

As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Sharon created a Leader's Pledge detailing her personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Sharon's pledge here
