Sam Khichi took on his current role in 2017, when his previous employer, C.R. Bard, Inc., was acquired by Becton, Dickinson. He also served as a reserve officer in the U.S. Navy and an active duty field artillery officer in the U.S. Army. Sam went to law school at night while working during the day as the Deputy Director of the NY/NJ Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, and later earned an MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
In a 2010 interview, Sam spoke about the importance of supporting his diverse legal department, saying, "It’s my obligation to give [my employees] all more than financial remuneration for their efforts and to remain particularly sensitive to those in the group who are underrepresented in the profession."
Diversity initiatives at Becton, Dickinson include a Global Inclusion Council and several associate resource groups. The company also provides D&I courses through its BD University and has a supplier diversity program.
