General Counsel, Plaid

Meredith Fuchs joined Plaid, a financial technology firm, in 2020. She was previously Chief Counsel, Enterprise Regulatory at Capital One and General Counsel of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In both roles, she was an advocate for diversity, working to develop outside counsel guidelines around diversity at Capital One, and helping launch the CFPB's Office of Minority and Women Inclusion. Meredith also serves on the boards of the Legal Counsel for the Elderly and the Historical Society of the District of Columbia Judicial Circuit.

In 2019, Plaid released a diversity report that highlighted its progress in improving the percentage of women and underrepresented minorities on its engineering team. The company also launched a company-wide inclusion survey, reviewed its recruiting process for biases, and engaged in bias training; its 2020 D&I goals include improving diversity in recruiting and getting more diverse talent engaged in its decision-making processes.
