Kirkland Hicks joined Lincoln Financial Group in 2015 as General Counsel. He was previously General Counsel of Towers Watson, where he was an LCLD Member and led the organization to participate in the Fellows, 1L Scholars, and Success in Law School Mentoring programs. On joining Lincoln Financial, Kirkland expressed an interest in using outside counsel's data to “drive continuous improvement with respect to other issues...such as diversity and inclusion.”

Lincoln Financial has a history of diversity that includes the first woman to pass the actuarial exam in the U.S. and a 1950 commitment to go beyond legal requirements to provide opportunities for people of color. Today, the company continues its commitment to inclusion through initiatives to help women in the financial sector and comprehensive training and development programs.
