Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Booz Allen Hamilton
As Chief Counsel at Booz Allen Hamilton, Joshua Petty works collaboratively across the organization with various stakeholders and is responsible for leading various legal initiatives, providing management with legal advice, playing a major part in managing the legal department, and collaborating with outside counsel on certain complex legal matters. He was previously a Managing Director at Accenture, co-leading a team of 70 lawyers, and spent time with Lockheed Martin Mission Systems.
As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Josh created a Leader's Pledge detailing his personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Josh's pledge here.
In 2020, Booz Allen renewed its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion: "We set out to reinvigorate a race and social equity agenda that matched what was needed—not what we were necessarily already comfortable with," Nancy said in an interview. This new agenda includes increasing the representation of people of color through the Mansfield Rule and other means, revisiting expectations for outside counsel, and group listening sessions. As of 2020, 67% of Booz Allen's Board of Directors and eight of the nine members of its leadership team were diverse.
