Welcome to the LCLD Connections newsletter! The months of May and June signal the end of the semester for law school students around the country and the beginning of summer - to all of our LCLD mentees who recently completed their first year of law school we offer a sincere Congratulations! It is our hope that working with your mentor in your second semester helped provide guidance, insight, and encouragement during what we all know was a challenging time.
Due to the summer break, the LCLD Connections newsletter will be distributed less frequently than during the school year. As always, if you have feedback or questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
-Sarah Wintle, Pipeline Programs Manager
During the month of May, all mentors and mentees received a survey link via email soliciting feedback about their experience in the LCLD Law School Mentoring Program. We're anxious to hear about your experience and hope to make improvements to the program based on your feedback.
If you have not yet done so, please visit one of the following surveys to provide important feedback about your experience as a mentor or mentee!

Individual Mentoring Program (IMP)
May marked the end of LCLD's inaugural launch of the Individual Mentoring Program (IMP). Starting in late January 2012, mentor attorneys were matched with interested mentees in 25 cities around the United States. In total, 706 mentees were matched with an equal number of mentors for a total of 1,412 total program participants! LCLD is exceptionally pleased with the program's success in its first session and hopes to continue that success in the second session, scheduled to launch in fall 2012!
Group Mentoring Program (GMP)
In late February 2012, LCLD launched its Success in Law School Group Mentoring Program (GMP). As part of this program, attorneys from LCLD member firms volunteer to host diverse 1L, 2L, and 3L students from surrounding law schools for a group session where issues relevant to law students are discussed.
The GMP was launched this winter in 29 cities across the country; some cities are held events this spring while others are planning events for the fall. Thus far, events have been held in Dallas, Richmond, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Cincinnati with two more still to come in Pittsburgh and Dallas (their second this spring!).
Below are photos from some GMP events.
