Willie is a results-driven leader and Senior Counsel with GE Capital. His practice focuses on structuring and negotiating the purchase and sale of assets by the Industrial Finance business unit of GE Capital and the ongoing management of those assets. The business unit purchases over $52 billion in assets annually in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia and maintains a balance of approximately $10 billion in assets. His responsibilities include the purchase and sale of the assets, supporting product and market development, regulatory compliance and readiness, litigation & bankruptcy case management, licensing and corporate governance.
From 2005 to 2007, Willie was a senior associate at the law firm of King & Spalding in New York, NY. From 2000 to 2005, Willie was an associate at the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York, NY. From 1993 to 1997, Willie was a U.S. Naval Intelligence Officer serving with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 533 and U.S. Naval Forces Korea.
Willie graduated summa cum laude from The Military College of Vermont at Norwich University in 1993 and Columbia University School of Law in 2000, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
Willie’s pro bono work includes representing an Iraqi translator that faced persecution stemming from his work with the U.S. military in connection with his visa application and negotiating financing for the Harlem School of the Arts.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and his hobbies include collecting the board game Monopoly and giving historical tours of New York’s Central Park to family and friends.
