Svetlana Walker is Senior Corporate Counsel at The Clorox Company, where she oversees the Global Marketing Communications Group and serves as Chief Business Counsel to Burt's Bees, Inc. In her role, Svetlana provides counseling on all matters concerning global compliance, litigation, social media executions, branded entertainment, claim substantiation, brand architecture, and marketing for the Company's brands.
She also oversees Lanham Act litigation, competitive claim challenges before the NAD, and matters before the Federal Trade Commission. As a trusted business partner, she recommends global risk mitigation strategies for business executions, adjacency expansion, and advises on global regulatory compliance issues.
Svetlana has been the Chief Business Counsel for Burt's Bees for over three years, and has partnered with the business to grow its product portfolio, launch a protein supplement line, and be an active force of change in the industry as part of its Greater Good Foundation. She advises the company on all business matters, and her favorite product is the Vanilla Bean lip balm (try it!)
Prior to joining The Clorox Company, Svetlana was an Advertising Associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips in Washington, D.C., where she represented clients in advertising and regulatory matters across a wide-range of industries.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Svetlana is also a member of the Board and an Executive Committee Member of the Golden Gate BBB, which serves the Northern California jurisdiction. As part of her national advocacy work, Svetlana is also a Member of the Council of Better Business Bureau's National Partner Board, where she works to develop programs that help enhance membership participation in the self-regulatory process.
A frequent speaker at national advertising conferences and events, Svetlana's core interests include behavioral marketing, mobile marketing platforms, and the transformational power of the Internet of Things. When not focused on all things advertising, Svetlana enjoys travel to distant lands, great books, a well-made Negroni, and spending time with her family.
