Rhonda T Hjort Profile Image

I oversee Lucasfilm’s business and legal affairs for the various Lucasfilm businesses.  I have been with the company since 2007.

Lucasfilm’s business spans the entire entertainment spectrum, including production of original live-action and animated content for film and television, visual effects and audio production for external clients, licensed products, and gaming.  Lucasfilm’s Business and Legal Affairs team supports all of these activities to execute on the creative team’s vision to ensure a cohesive Star Wars narrative that plays across multiple media.

I draw tremendous inspiration and satisfaction from a team effort well done which is one of the reasons I love working in the extremely collaborative Lucasfilm environment.   As the saying goes -- you have to listen to be heard and be interested in finding the best way, not in having your way.

Prior to joining Lucasfilm, I was General Attorney at AT&T where I litigated a full range of employment claims, including wage and hour class actions, in federal and state court.  I began my legal career at Carroll, Burdick, and McDonough as an employment law litigator.

I am the daughter of a U.S. career diplomat and grew up abroad living in Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Japan and Hong Kong.  I graduated from Carleton College and received my J.D. from University of California, Davis.  Before law school, I was a social worker for Catholic Social Services working in the migrant farm workers’ community.
