Renee M. H. Yuen, was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is an Assistant Chief Counsel in the Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media segment of The Walt Disney Company. Renee serves as the primary legal support for the Disney Store North America (brick and mortar and e-commerce channels) and is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel while understanding the needs of a fast-paced premier retailer. Duties include drafting and negotiating a range of complex agreements, regulatory compliance, marketing review, product review, operational and guest service issues, and being a thought partner to the business.
Prior to her role as Assistant Chief Counsel, Renee was Principal Counsel in the Walt Disney World Resort Legal department in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Over the course of her 11 year tenure with the Walt Disney World Resort Legal department, Renee provided legal support for a wide variety of business units including Theme Park Merchandise, Photo Imaging, Corporate Alliance, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Operating Participants, Resort Operations, Transportation, and Regulatory Compliance.
Prior to joining the The Walt Disney Company, Renee spent 7 years as an in-house counsel with Dollar General Corporation, a Fortune 500 retailer, located in Goodlettsville, TN. At Dollar General, Renee was the business operations attorney responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, management of all business litigation, product and marketing review, and regulatory compliance.
Renee received a Bachelor of Art in Political Science with a minor in East Asian Studies from Vanderbilt University and a Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt Law School.
