I currently serve as an Associate General Counsel in the Legal Division at Freddie Mac where I play a key role in developing the company’s anti-predatory lending (APL) policy and providing support to the various departments to ensure APL compliance.  Other duties include interpreting and analyzing a wide range of housing and financial services legislation and regulations to determine the impact on the company.  I actively participate in Freddie Mac’s pro bono program by providing legal advice to low-income individuals.  

Prior to joining Freddie Mac, I worked for the Fannie Mae Foundation as an attorney handling contract and procurement matters; the D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking as an Associate General Counsel where I focused on regulatory and legislative issues governing financial institutions; and the Council of the District of Columbia where I  served as a Legislative Counsel.  

I have a Political Science degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County; a Juris Doctorate degree from the D.C. School of Law; and a LL.M in Securities and Financial Regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center.  I am licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.

Leadership Positions

A list of leadership positions are as follows: 1. Actively participate on the Legal Diversity Council, where I planned and implemented key diversity initiatives and programs. I was instrumental in securing a internship sponsorship for the D.C. School of Law. I also played a key role in developing and implementing the Legal Division's first mentoring circle program. 2. Actively participate in the Legal Division's pro bono program providing legal assistance to low-income individuals.
