I currently serve as an Associate General Counsel in the Legal Division at Freddie Mac where I play a key role in developing the company’s anti-predatory lending (APL) policy and providing support to the various departments to ensure APL compliance. Other duties include interpreting and analyzing a wide range of housing and financial services legislation and regulations to determine the impact on the company. I actively participate in Freddie Mac’s pro bono program by providing legal advice to low-income individuals.
Prior to joining Freddie Mac, I worked for the Fannie Mae Foundation as an attorney handling contract and procurement matters; the D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking as an Associate General Counsel where I focused on regulatory and legislative issues governing financial institutions; and the Council of the District of Columbia where I served as a Legislative Counsel.
I have a Political Science degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County; a Juris Doctorate degree from the D.C. School of Law; and a LL.M in Securities and Financial Regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center. I am licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
