Nipun is a partner in Reed Smith's Commercial Litigation Group, resident in the Philadelphia office. Nipun maintains a broad-based business litigation practice, with an emphasis on employment, financial services, antitrust, and commercial disputes. Nipun has practiced extensively before federal and state courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and other jurisdictions, doing both trial and appellate work. His experience encompasses first chair trial responsibility, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
Nipun’s employment experience includes discrimination litigation and employment counseling. He has helped employers resolve a wide variety of employment-related disputes, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful discharge, restrictive covenant, and breach of contract claims. Nipun has also counseled employers on employment agreements and workplace policies.
In the financial services context, Nipun has defended claims brought against lenders and financial institutions under the Securities and Exchange Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth In Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and state consumer protection laws.
Nipun also maintains an active pro bono practice. He is a regular volunteer with Philadelphia VIP, and has been named to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas’ Pro Bono Roll of Honor. For his work on behalf of indigent clients, Nipun was also named an “Unsung Hero” by the Legal Intelligencer.
