Nate St.Clair is a Partner at Jackson Walker LLP, in Dallas, Texas.
Nate has significant experience counseling and representing clients in patent infringement cases involving complex technologies. Nate is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and he has been as counsel of record in over 50 patent infringement cases. In addition to counseling clients in litigation matters, Nate has drafted and/or prosecuted over 200 patent applications in the electrical and electromechanical arts. Nate counsels clients in a wide range of intellectual property matters and complex corporate litigation and transactional matters, including patent portfolio management, infringement and invalidity analyses, patentability studies, risk assessments, and general IP counseling, and patent monetization efforts. Over the last few years, Nate has represented clients across various industries, including automotive, e-commerce, encryption, financial services, food and beverage, industrial printing, oil & gas, telecom, and transportation.
Nate has also been published on various legal topics, including his 2016 Thomson Reuters publication in Inside the Minds, titled “Wearable Technology Brings New Concerns to the Fashion Law Arena” addressing the potential legal concerns of wearable technologies and 3D printing affecting privacy rights, patent infringement, and counterfeiting. Nate was also recently nominated and voted as one of the Dallas Business Journal’s 40-Under-40 Business Leaders, and he was admitted to the Texas Bar College – the legal honor society of the State Bar of Texas. Prior to practicing law, Nate worked as a patent engineer/agent for GE Healthcare for several years and as a law clerk for the General Counsel and Vice President of the Milwaukee Bucks NBA Franchise. Nate holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
Nate sits on the Board of Directors for various organizations, including the Wes Matthews' "Driven2Greatness" Charitable Foundation, the Impact Initiative (a faith-based community development organization), in addition to being a former Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star and St. Philip's School and Community Center in Dallas.
