Kimberly is Vice President of Legal and Government Affairs for Scripps Networks Interactive where she leads the company’s legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts and provides legal support to Scripps’ research, CSR, facilities/leasing and bankruptcy functions.
Before Scripps, Kimberly had several roles with TV One: VP, Legal Affairs; SVP, Legal Affairs and HR Strategy, and SVP of Distribution and Strategy. Kimberly’s professional roles before TV One were Associate General Counsel for BET; associate with Fleischman & Walsh, LLP; Attorney-Advisor with the FCC, and Law Clerk to Judge Michael Rankin--D.C. Superior Court.
Kimberly is a proud member of NAMIC ELDP Class XII/Darden I and a leader in the Prince George’s County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Kim is also passionate about issues of Diveristy & Inclusion and, to that end, is active in National Association of Minorities in Communications (NAMIC) (an organization that educates, advocates and empowers for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry); active Women In Cable Telecommunications (WICT) (An organization that advocates for women in the cable industry by commissioning gender diversity research and sharing proven diversity and inclusion tactics that demonstrate the strong benefits businesses realize with a more gender diverse team); and a frequent attendee at the following events: Corporate Counsel Women of Color Conference (CCWOC) (A conference that provides a support network to in-house women of color, facilitates networking around the nation and abroad, promotes the career success of in-house women of color, and promotes all aspects of global diversity in the legal profession and workplace); Charting Your Own Career Course (A conference that empowers attorneys of color with practical career and life strategiesfor short and long term success) and Going All-In on Diversity and Inclusion: The Law Firm Leader’s Playbook (A seminar designed to identify the hidden issues undermining diversity and inclusion efforts (particularly in legal environments) and provide tools for effective resolution).
.A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and American University, and a member of the Pennsylvania, District of Columbia and Tennessee bars, Kimberly resides with her husband and daughter in Bowie, MD.
