Katherine Ma is the General Counsel of Honeywell Specialty Products, a $1.2 billion business serving a wide variety of industries with leading technologies and specialty materials, such as Aclar® films used in pharmaceutical and medical packaging, performance additives used to produce better inks, adhesives, plastics and asphalt, Spectra® fiber, used in fishing, ropes and ballistic vests and helmets that protect military personnel and law enforcement officers around the world, and electronic materials that help the worlds’ leading companies like Intel and Apple manufacture the most cutting edge computer and telecommunications products.
Katherine joined Honeywell in 2004 and has been in various Associate General Counsel and General Counsel roles with increasing responsibilities. In addition to her role as General Counsel, Katherine also chairs the Integrity and Compliance Council for Performance Materials and Technologies, and has served in that capacity since 2006.
Prior to joining Honeywell, Katherine practiced with the New York based law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in their New York and Hong Kong offices, as well as the Boston based law firm of Goodwin Proctor LLP in their Boston office in corporate transactions including initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Katherine also had the distinct pleasure and honor of serving as Law Clerk to Chief Judge Joseph L. Tauro of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in the beginning of her legal career.
Katherine was born in Taipei, Taiwan to a family of opera singers and grew up on the Jersey shore near Ocean City, New Jersey. She received both her bachelor’s as well as juris doctorate degrees from Cornell University. Katherine is bilingual in Chinese and English.
