Born in Boston, Mass, but moved to Seattle in the summer of '78 and have called the Northwest home ever since. I studied creative writing and American literature at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, but quickly came to the realization that I wasn't going to write the next great American novel and after flirting with the idea of going to business school, I decided to attend law school. It's been one of the best decisions of my life. I had a wondersul experience at Seattle University School of Law and began practicing at Perkins in 2005 and made Partner in 2014.
In my practice, I help organizations as large as Microsoft and Adobe as well as small, emerging growth companies still seeking seed financing with a wide range of complex intellectual property and technology transactions, license and services agreements, product launches, as well intellectual property and technology-based mergers and acquisitions, and strategic partnerships and divestitures. My time is best spent counseling clients and drafting and negotiating agreements, including those related to the commercialization and licensing of enterprise and consumer software, on-premises and cloud-based services, and advising on issues regarding privacy and data security.
My wife, Anne, and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary last summer and we have 3 children; a girl named Charlie (age 7), a boy named August (age 4) and another girl named Eloise (age 22 months).
