Computer software can enhance, empower, and disrupt almost everything we do in society. My professional passion and career focus on software's transformative power. I started as a software engineer at startups. I counselled software companies in my private practice. I am now an attorney at Microsoft.
My current practice includes counselling the engineering division within Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Business that makes software and cloud service deployed tools for software developers, and leading Microsoft’s Open Source Software counselling practice. My practices are highly synergistic, and allow me to blend my legal and technical expertise to support a business that impacts millions of software developers worldwide. My job is hard, scary, and a lot of fun.
Microsoft is a wonderful platform for me to do impactful things that augment my day-job experience. I am empowered to advance our agenda on diversity and inclusion. I partner with our community to facilitate unique pro bono engagements. And I get to work with the best people in a collaborative, supportive, and dynamic environment on a rich set of issues and opportunities.
My wife, daughter, and I make our home in Seattle. It’s a beautiful city. You should visit…in the summer.
