Gloria Hong Profile Image

I am in the Litigation group at Starbucks. In my position as corporate counsel, I oversee and manage commercial and general liability litigation for retail locations in North America, and provide legal advice to Starbucks management and partners (employees) relating to litigation and legal exposure. I proactively look for ways to reduce risk to the company.

Prior to joining Starbucks, I was a trial attorney at Stoel Rives LLP in Seattle, Washington. During my tenure with the firm, I worked on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including matters involving contract and quasi-contract disputes, toxic torts and product liability, intellectual property, construction, initiatives and referenda, antitrust, class actions, and insurance matters. I handled all aspects of litigation, including trials, administrative proceedings, motions practice, ADR, discovery, post-trial work, and appeals.

I believe in giving back to the community. Throughout my career, I have mentored high school students, law students, and practicing attorneys. I have also worked on a variety of pro bono matters, including civil rights actions, housing justice cases, at-risk youth matters, and immigration matters. I am currently serving as the co-chair of the Starbucks Law and Corporate Affairs Pro Bono Committee.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, restaurants, and activities. I love coffee and am a huge Seahawks fan (Go Hawks!). I look forward to meeting all my LCLD co-fellows, alumni, and leadership!
