As an associate at Horvitz & Levy, Emily Cuatto has appeared on behalf of clients in the California Supreme Court, Oregon Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit, and California Court of Appeal. She has served as appellate and trial counsel in practice areas including insurance coverage and products liability. Prior to joining Horvitz & Levy, Emily served as a law clerk to the Honorable Milan D. Smith, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and as a litigation associate in the Santa Monica office of Bingham McCutchen LLP.
Emily did her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, graduating with Distinction and Honors and earning the Arnaud B. Leavelle Prize for Best Thesis in Political Theory. She attended law school at the University of California at Los Angeles where she was elected to the Order of the Coif upon graduation. While at UCLA, Emily served as the Symposium Editor for the UCLA Law Review and earned awards for both brief writing and oral advocacy from the UCLA Moot Court Honors Program.
Between college and law school, Emily taught middle school special education in New Orleans, Louisiana, through the Teach for America program.
Emily grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. She enjoys antiquing, baking, crafting, and tending her garden at her home in Santa Monica, California.
