Averie K. Hason is Assistant General Patent Counsel, with Eli Lilly and Company, and is based in Lilly’s Branchburg, New Jersey office. In her role, she primarily focuses on patent litigation for large and small molecules, transactional matters, and intellectual property client counseling for early phase to launched pharmaceutical products. Averie is the Chair of an internal Litigation Working Committee and the Chair of the Lilly NY/NJ Women’s Network.
Lilly acquired ImClone Systems, Inc. in 2008, and at that time, Averie was Head of Intellectual Property for ImClone, reporting directly to the General Counsel and responsible for all intellectual property matters worldwide. Prior to joining ImClone, Averie was a litigation associate in the New York office of White & Case, LLP, focusing on patent litigation.
Averie is a registered patent attorney, received a juris doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 2001, and graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware in 1998 with a BA in Biological Sciences.
