Allison Whitt Meredith is an associate at Horvitz & Levy LLP. She graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center, magna cum laude, in 2011. She received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, in International Relations from American University, where she was a Presidential Scholar.
Prior to joining Horvitz & Levy, Ms. Meredith was an associate at Vedder Price, PC, and before that, at Irell & Manella LLP. At Irell, Ms. Meredith served on the Diversity Committee and the Hiring Committee. Before starting at Irell, Ms. Meredith clerked for the Honorable Judge Robert Beezer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Meredith maintains a meaningful pro bono practice. She has represented prisoners whose First Amendment rights were violated by prison guards, successfully obtaining a reversal of the dismissal of their case in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; she has also assisted a United States Navy veteran obtain Social Security disability benefits; and has represented major immigrants’ rights organizations in connection with a case currently pending before the California Supreme Court. Ms. Meredith has served as a member of the Associates' Board for the Public Law Center.
