Timothy J. Mayopoulos
Executive Vice President General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Fannie Mae
Timothy J. Mayopoulos is Fannie Mae's Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer. He is a member of Fannie Mae's senior management team; serves as a senior advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors; and manages the services and operations of Fannie Mae's Legal Department.
Prior to joining Fannie Mae in 2009, Mr. Mayopoulos was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Bank of America Corporation, where he was responsible for the delivery of all legal services for the Fortune 50, diversified financial services company. Before joining Bank of America, he was Managing Director and General Counsel, Americas of Deutsche Bank AG's Corporate and Investment Bank. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director and Senior Deputy General Counsel, Americas of Credit Suisse First Boston and Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mayopoulos was in private practice at Davis Polk & Wardwell. He also served as Associate Independent Counsel in the Office of the Independent Counsel during the Whitewater investigation.
Mr. Mayopoulos is a cum laude graduate of the New York University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree in English, with distinction, from Cornell University.
