Managing Partner, Schiff Hardin LLP

Marci Eisenstein joined Schiff Hardin in 1979 and rose to lead the firm's Class Action Group before being elected as the first female managing partner in the firm's 150-year history. She is also on the Board of the Illinois Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and twice chaired the largest private fundraiser in Chicago.

"Our clients and their customers are increasingly diverse, and it is their view that their lawyers can provide the best and most innovative solutions by pulling together diverse teams with differing perspectives," Marci said in an interview with Chambers. What is critical now is that we ensure that diverse lawyers are given the opportunity to lead those teams, and take leadership responsibility for the business."

In 2016, Schiff Hardin was ranked No. 2 for diversity for women and No. 7 for diversity for minorities by Vault. The firm was also a "leadership signatory" to the Chicago Bar Association's Alliance for Women Call to Action, and is involved with more than 25 minority bar associations around the country.
