Partner and Chairperson, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP

Kim Koopersmith was the first female chairperson of Akin Gump, where she plays an active role in the firm’s diversity efforts. She oversaw the Women’s Professional Development Initiative and diversity pipeline programs and was recently named one of Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching. Kim also received the Pathmaker Award from Inside Counsel magazine and serves on the boards of Equal Justice Works and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, among others.

Akin Gump has a strong commitment to diversity. With early support of domestic partner benefits, community partnerships, and diversity committees, this global firm makes an effort to constantly expand its perspectives. In addition to the Women’s Professional Development Initiative, Akin Gump’s Strauss Scholarship provides opportunities for diverse lawyers.
