Executive Vice President, Chief Business Affairs and Legal Officer, PayPal Inc.
Louise Pentland joined PayPal in 2015 after 16 years at Nokia, where, as Chief Legal Officer, she helped lead the company's merger with Microsoft. She is active in pro bono work, representing victims of domestic violence and unaccompanied children seeking asylum, and in 2016 received the National Legal Aid & Defender Association's Exemplar Award. She has also been named one of 60 “Women Leaders in Tech Law” and “General Counsel of the Year” and for her work with PayPal.
“There's enough data that supports the measurement of what diversity and inclusion brings, the success it brings,” Louise said of diverse teams. “If you start by just even reading the data, then it becomes a no-brainer that you don't want to work with people that don't have diversity.”
PayPal is committed to building an inclusive workforce, focusing particularly on increasing representation of women, African Americans, and Hispanics. In 2016, the company achieved 99.97 percent global gender pay parity.
